A DRAMATIC match at Needham Market's Bloomfields ground in Suffolk saw East Thurrock progress to the third qualifying round of the FA Cup and a meeting later this month with Boston United.

The visiting Rocks looked to have established a grip on tonight's (Tuesday, 21 September) replay when Johnny Ashman put them ahead on 37 minutes and six minutes later Ben Wyss gave them a two goal half time advantage.

But the home side produced a revival on the resumption and goals from Noah Collard (55 minutes) and Ben Fowkes (66) put them on level terms.

However, with the clock ticking down and keeper Athur Janata having a heroic game to keep the Marketmen at bay, East Thurrock won the day on 83 minutes when Alex Hernandez converted from the penalty spot as Rockers were rewarded for their tenacity when Tobi Joseph burst into the box and was shoved over. Hernandez appeared to be the coolest person in the ground as he slammed the resultant penalty past Needham's veteran keeper Marcus Garnham.
