BELHUS CC 1st XI were away at strugglers, Billericay on Saturday 3rd July in what was a 'must win' Essex Premier league game for both clubs.

Belhus CC batted first with Captain Danny Joyce scoring 130 runs, not out. Joyce's personal contribution of 130 went towards a final total for Belhus of 223 runs from 54 overs. Captain Danny was ably assisted at the crease by Shane Barwick on 32 runs and Sahan Nanayakkara on 27 runs.

Billericay, in turn, could only score 116 runs and they were all out after 43 overs. Belhus CC 1st XI star bowler, Max Osborne backed up his previous week's "5for" by taking four Billericay wickets. Not to be outdone, Joe Joyce also took four wickets and 'in form' Belhus bowler Dan Norris, the other two Billericay wickets.

Belhus 1st XI take on reigning champions, Brentwood CC, this coming Saturday, 10 July, at North Stifford Village ground. Starting time for this Essex Premier League match is 11am.

In other Essex Saturday league cricket action on Saturday 3rd July, the Belhus 2nd XI lost at home to Leigh on Sea, both the 3rd XI and the 4th XI drew their respective ties against Old Parkonians and Chelmsford and the Belhus 5th XI lost away at Matthews CC.
