AVELEY moved up to seventh spot in the Isthmian North thanks to a solitary goal win at The Arena on Tuesday (5 October) evening.

The deciding goal came in the closing moments of the first half when Manny Ogunrinde was brought down in the box and Shad Ngandu stepped up to convert the subsequent penalty.

It was fair reward for the Millers who thought they had scored on 38 minutes through George Sykes but the effort was ruled out by an offside decision.

The visitors were less dominant in the second half and at one point were grateful for the woodwork which denied Brentwood an equaliser but they held on for the three points.
