STORM Dennis isn't here yet but already the weather has made an impact on local football fixtures.

East Thurrock United's Bet Victor Isthmian Premier match at Cheshunt has been called off, as has the Division One North game at Heybridge Swifts where Tilbury were due to visit.

A statement from Cheshunt says "An already saturated pitch is holding water through the middle and one goalmouth and with considerably more rain forecast from 1pm the match is off."

Heybridge say: "The match has been postponed due to the bad weather and related safety concerns."
