MEMBERS of a borough sports club celebrated their sport this week - and shared the enjoyment with guests.
Springhouse Bowls Club of Corringham welcomed eighty players on Tuesday (2 June) for their annual Mixed Open. A great day was had by all with several compliments being received.
Upon arrival, guests could purchase refreshments. They enjoyed a two-course lunch and cakes were available in the afternoon. Each team of four players played three games throughout the day, points being totalled at the end of the day to find the top four teams.
Teams entered from within the Thurrock Area, as well as far afield as Gidea Park, Southend-on-Sea and Great Baddow.
Springhouse Secretary Elaine Roast said: "Players were aged from a young teen to people in their eighties. Bowls is a sport that can be enjoyed by all with great socialisation links as well as a gentle exercise.
"If you think Bowls is something you might be interested in trying then please call in and see us."
