AVELEY FC defender and captain Ryan Henshaw has departed the Millers, joining neighbours and fellow Isthmian Premier League side Brentwood Town.

He follows his former manager Brett Munyard who quit Millers for Brentwood last week and he made his debut for Town on Tuesday (22 September), coming off the bench in a 5-1 win at the Brentwood Centre Arena against Maldon & Tiptree.

Henshaw joined Millers during last summer and went on to captain the side and make 56 appearances, scoring five goals.

Off the field at Parkside there have been further changes with back room staff Adam Bailey-Dennis, Alex Simms and Paul Lander moving on ahea of the arrival of new manager Alex Akrofi's own coaching team.

A club statement said: "We would like to thank them for stepping up under difficult circumstances and leading the team in the FA Cup last weekend. Everyone at Aveley would like to wish ABD, Alex and Paul all the best for the future."
