Aveley 1, Havant & Waterlooville 2

AVELEY lacked a creative spark at Parkside as Havant & Waterlooville scored a late goal to win the game two-one.

Monday's (1 April) Vanarama National League South game saw Millers faulter in their playoff push.

After a cagey first half it didn't take long for Havant to take the advantage in the second. Joe McNerney headed home at the front post in the 50th minute – it had been coming.

However, it took Aveley six minutes to respond as Razzaq Coleman De-Graft smashed his effort into the top right corner after cutting in from the left.

Ryan Seager broke Millers hearts after 87' minutes as he poked goalward from close range.

Aveley fall to ninth in the league and teams around them have either one or two games in hand.

Next, Aveley face Truro City on Saturday (6 April) at Treyew Road. Truro have only lost once in their last five games and sit 17th in the league.

Another tough test for Millers; a must win match if a playoff push is going to happen.
