Rocks celebrate the early goal.

East Thurrock United 1, Frenford 0

EAST Thurrock came through Saturday's (5 July) potential FA Cup extra preliminary round clash against Essex Senior League Frenford thanks to Ayo Odukoya's volleyed goal on six minutes following Jesse Olukolu's fine cross.

The strike settled any nerves the favourites might have had and they dominated possession and had the better of the first half chances though they were unable to convert them

Frenford came out in the second half and tested home keeper Chibueze almost immediately and he produced a diving save to his right. Rocks still had the better of the chances without converting them, though they were grateful for another fine save from Chibueze to keep them ahead.

In the end Odukoya's strike was enough to secure the win and progression through to a home tie with Barton Rovers in the preliminary round. They also pocketed £1,125 for the win!
