Tilbury 0, Hashtag United 3

AFTER Saturday's goalless draw at Brightlingsea, Dockers welcomed Hashtag United to the EMR Stadium for the first time in over three years on Tuesday (18 August) in the Isthmian North.

Tilbury made two changes for Saturday against the unbeaten league leaders as Charlie Stimson and Michael Okafor replaced Troy Chiabi and Alfie Fry.

The Tags took the lead after 18 minutes when the ball fell to Sam Park on the edge of the area after Ellis Devereux saw his effort blocked by Joe Elliott. Park delivered a cross-cum-shot which looped over Lawlor and into the top corner.

Directly from kick-off, Tilbury worked the ball forward and won a throw-in high up the field, in search of an equaliser. Joe Elliott launched the ball into the area for Luke Reeve to head, but his attempt struck the frame of the goal before bouncing to safety.

Following the break, Dockers grew more and more into the game, but despite all the timeS they delivered dangerous crosses into the area, the Hashtag defence always had an answer to the question.

The hosts would eventually be caught on the break, as Jason Ring's long ball over the defence Ellis Devereux, who timed his run well to go through one-on-one and calmly finish with a dinked shot.

Tilbury kept pushing for a late lifeline back into the game and caused problems for The Tags from the left flank, where Soumen Nandi was sizing up his full-back before driving inside and whipping a strike, which flew just over the crossbar.

However, Hashtag would once again hit the home side on the break through Devereux, who attacked down the left before drilling a low cross into the area. The delivery was well cut out by Joe Elliott, but Devereux was first to react, emphatically firing home from close range.

Dockers are back in action on Saturday, 22 August when they travel to Biggleswade Town in the FA Cup Preliminary Round.

SQUAD: Lawlor, Bennett (Townsend), Reeve (Taylor), Elliott, Okafor, Rea (Chiabi), Winn © (Brocklebank), Toussaint, Allen, Nandi, Stimson (Barlow).
