Grays Athletic end "hard season" with victory on the last day

Grays Athletic 3, Ipswich Wanderers 2 

GRAYS beat Ipswich Wanderers three-two on the final day in the Isthmian North Division.

Saturday's (27 April) game at the EMR Stadium saw the Blues end a frustrating season on a positive note.

Charlie Stimson scored two goals for Grays in the first half (3' pen, 28') and Rashid Salau got one back for Ipswich in the 32nd minute.

In the second half Jamal Goodward levelled the scores after 79 minutes but Blues snatched the points late as Jack Wilson headed home in the 89th minute.

Grays finished the season in 16th place, scoring 33 points.

Following the match @GraysAthleticFC posted on X, "And just like that the 2023/24 season draws to an end. A hard season for the club on the pitch but so much to look forward to coming up. As always, a huge thank you for your support."
