TUESDAY evening's (16 September) Isthmian North clash at Wadham Lodge will not live long in many people's memories.
It was a tedious game of few chances, and a real lack of quality from both sides – though Grays will take heart from a strong defensive display, which featured new signing Guy Norton in the second half, and they were well-led by a stoic performance from captain Lewis Clark.
Stow had possibly the biggest chance of the game to take the lead just before half time. Pedro Carvalho latched onto the end of a long ball forward and was one on one with goalkeeper George Marsh but he could only fire wide.
The home side had more of the ball in the second half but couldn't break down a stubborn Grays defence.

The Blues are next in action at the EMR Stadium in Tilbury on Saturday (20 September) when they entertain Felixstowe & Walton Utd in the Isuzo FA Trophy second qualifying round.
