GRAYS Athletic may face expulsion or be forced to replay their last round Essex Senior Cup win against Concord Rangers.

The Blues were due to face Canvey Island this evening (Tuesday, 31 January) but that match is postponed while Essex FA investigate.

A statement from Grays says: "The club regrets to announce that our BBC Essex Senior Cup Quarter Final against Canvey tomorrow night has been postponed.

"This is because we have been advised that we inadvertently played an ineligible player in the previous round at Concord.

The club will be charged and we will be co-operating with the FA to investigate the circumstances around this situation. We will update in due course.

"The club would like to apologise to both sets of supporters for the postponement and any inconvenience caused."
