London Harts 1, East Thurrock Community FC 3

ROCKS got off to a flyer with an early goal from Lewis Rowe in today's Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties South Division at Harlow against London Harts - and a brace from Basildon United loanee Callum King ensured they came back with all the points and seventh place in the table.

Early pressure saw Rocks win a corner in the second minute and, after a scramble in the area when it was delivered, Rowe eventually got the ball in the net.

King was proving very influential, winning a 14th minute free kick in a dangerous position that ultimately came to nothing. But a minute later he was on hand to meet Harry Prince's corner with a glancing header that increased the lead.

Rocks seemed to take their foot off the gas after that and Harts battled back to win a penalty, which was converted, just before the break but Rocks went into the second half with the advantage.

Momentarily, two minutes after the restart, it looked like they had lost it when Harts got the ball in the net but the effort was disallowed for offside.

Play was pretty even, with Rocks attempting to regain momentum with a series of substitutions but it wasn't until six minutes from time when they made the points safe when King beat Harts' last man to the ball at the edge of the box and capitalised by slotting it into the left-hand side of the net.

Rocks return to Rookery Hill next Saturday (3 October) when they play host to Athletic Newham in the league.
