CORRINGHAM Cosmos Ladies football club have announced they will be joining East Thurrock Community Football Club and will be sponsored by BDD Financial Services for the 2025/26 season.

This is the second team joining East Thurrock Community Football Club (ETCFC) after its debut season of a men's first team in 2024/25.

Jono Edwards, ETCFC Vice Chairman said: "As we proudly enter our second year as a club, it's a truly special milestone to welcome our first ever ladies side to East Thurrock Community Football Club.

"From day one, our vision has been rooted in building something that goes beyond the pitch — a place where everyone, regardless of age or gender, feels they belong and can be part of something meaningful.

"The introduction of our ladies team marks an exciting new chapter, and it reflects our continued commitment to growing the game locally and creating real pathways for all.

"More than anything, we hope this inspires young girls across Thurrock to pick up a ball, join a team, and believe that there's a space for them in football—right here in their own community.

"We're incredibly proud of how far we've come in such a short time, and even more excited for what lies ahead. We look forward to announcing more teams in the near future and next season.

Irv Lyon, ETCFC Ladies Manager said: "The ladies team are absolutely relishing the opportunity of becoming part of the East Thurrock Community Football Club.

"After many years spent as part of Corringham Cosmos, this is a positive and meaningful step in the right direction.

"The facilities, team and atmosphere available to us at East Thurrock represent a huge step towards securing the future of ladies football in the area.
