AVELEY will be looking to bounce back from Tuesday evening's defeat at Cheshunt, with a rare early evening match at Ramsgate today (Saturday, 28 February).

The Isthmian Premier clash at the Southwood Stadium on the Kent coast kicks-off at 5.30pm, and will be streamed live on the Clubber service, with entry free to those attending.

In the Isthmian North, Tilbury make the trip to Wadham Lodge to face 15th placed Walthamstow, looking to improve on the outcome in November when the north London side drew 2-2 at Chadfields thanks to two late goals.

That result plunged Dockers into the drop zone but since then Tilbury have changed their management team and have risen to ninth in the table, with hope remaining for a late season run that will lift them into the promotion-play-off battle.

Last time out Tilbury comfortably disposed of the challenge of Takeley to record back-to-back wins for the first time this year and so they will hope the season's momentum has changed.

With the interim management team of Paul Joynes and Mitch Han confirmed in place until the end of the season, Grays Athletic will be in Isthmian North action at the EMR Stadium where visitors are Bowers & Pitsea.

The south Essex derby will be a true test of Grays' new found mettle as the visitors are fourth, well embedded in the promotion race, while the Blues could drop down into the relegation zone with a defeat in the unlikely event struggling Takeley produce the upset of the day at home to leaders Felixstowe.

Grays can no doubt draw on the memory of a 2-1 win at the Len Salmon stadium in October where two goals from Kye Jude proved decisive in a fractious clash that saw a red card for either side.

After being without a match since 24 January, East Thurrock Community FC will hope to rekindle their Essex and Suffolk Border League Premier Division title chase when they entertain Tiptree Heath at the Wyldecrest Club (2pm KO).

Tiptree are in 11th place, while the weeks without action have seen Rocks slip from first to third, but they still have two matches in hand on leaders Sudbury Sports, though second-placed Great Bentley are two points ahead having played the same number of matches, meaning a win is paramount for the home side today – particularly as Great Bentley are not in action as their scheduled KO Cup tie has been postponed.
