Aveley 3, Billericay 3

OLD faces came back to haunt Aveley in a local Isthmian Premier derby at Parkside on Friday evening (12 December) when Millers gave up a two goal lead and had to share the spoils.

Billericay, managed by former Aveley boss Danny Scopes, took an early lead through  Elliot Long on eight minutes.

But the hosts responded on 17 minutes with an equaliser from Christopher Harris and, just a minute later he added a second.

By the break Millers looked to have a the game in the bag when Harris completed his hat-trick on 38 minutes.

However, the second half proved to be Billericay's.

Long grabbed his second on 56 minutes and  an equaliser came from former Miller Ryan Scott on 68 minutes.

The point was enough to put Millers into the play-off zone - at least until the completion of Saturday's fixtures.
