JACK Coventry netted a hat-trick as East Thurrock lifted the inaugural James Chisnell Trophy at the Wyldcrest Sports Club on Saturday (20 July).

Players and officials started the match with a minute's round of applause paying tribute to James Chisnell.

A young Grays side, made up of Under 23 players and trialists found themselves one up after good footwork and a cool finish, then Coventry scored two calmly finished goals to put East Thurrock in front at the break.

He completed his hat-trick with a long range strike as the hosts went on to stretch their lead before two late goals from Grays completed the scoring.
