AVELEY are in Emirates FA Cup Second Qualifying Round action today (Saturday, 13 September), making the trip to Southern Central Premier side AFC Sudbury.

The Suffolk side haven't made the best of starts to the season and sit third from bottom with two wins and five defeats in their seven matches. They were elevated to the division after beating Grays Athletic and Heybridge in the Isthmian North play-offs.

Today's cup clash has meant the postponement of Aveley's scheduled Isthmian Premier meeting at Cray Valley, which will now be played on Tuesday, 30 September.

The winners of today's match win £3,375, with the losers pocketing £1,125.

In the Isthmian North Grays Athletic, who had good news in their bid to move to Thurrock FC's former Ship Lane ground this week, make the short trip to Canvey Island to take on Concord Rangers. Both sides have had indifferent starts to the league campaign, with just four points each, though Rangers have played five matches to Grays' four.

The Blues go into the match buoyed by last week's FA Trophy win against Milton Keynes Irish.

Tilbury are without a match though they entertain Waltham Abbey in the league on Tuesday. Grays are also in action on Tuesday at Walthamstow, unless today's match is drawn.

East Thurrock Community FC entertain Thorpe Athletic in the Essex & Suffolk Border League KO Cup first round, kick-off 2.30pm. The sides also met at the Wyldcrest Club in august, Rocks coming out 3-2 winners in the Premier Division, which they currently top. Athletic are fourth.
