AVELEY enjoyed another productive week as new manager Brett Munyard continues to shape his plans for the coming Isthmian Premier season.
On Saturday Millers, who went into the weekend on the back of adding attacking midfielder Suley Zuhdu to their squad, entertained National league South Ebbsfleet United and an entertaining match with chances at both ended all square and goalless.
Zuhdu numbers Hashtag United, Munyard's former club Brightlingsea Regent and Grays Athletic among his former clubs.
Tuesday brought a clash with Concord Rangers at Parkside and Millers led 1-0 at half time after Ollie Peters, who had won the spot kick, converted a penalty rebound. A second goal from a trialist followed in the second half and Zuhdu slotted home his first two goals for the Millers to complete an emphatic 4-0 win.
This weekend Millers will play host to Tilbury on Saturday (20 July), kick-off 1pm.
Tilbury have been among the goals in the build up to Saturday's derby, but they have had mixed fortunes result wise.
Last Saturday Dockers made the short trip to Basildon United and a side that featured a number of trialists did well, winning 3-0.
Things didn't go quite so well on Wednesday away to Buckhurst Hill, though again managers Marc Harrison and Liam Wallace took the opportunity to look at potential new players, two of who scored in a 3-2 defeat.
Grays Athletic, who have announced Lewis Clark as new club captain and Tyler Brampton as vice-captain, enjoyed a run out against East Thurrock Community FC on Tuesday evening, winning 4-0.
On Saturday the Blues will face a tougher test against Brentwood Town, away at the Arena, kick-off 1pm. And on Tuesday they travel to play VCD Athletic.
East Thurrock will visit Southend Manor on Saturday.
