Three Trophy ties await for borough clubs

BOROUGH sides are in action in the FA Trophy Third Qualifying Round today (Saturday, 4 October).
Aveley welcome fellow Isthmian Premier League side St Albans City to Parkside. The Saints are tenth in the table, five places above Millers, with three wins, three draws and three defeats to their name.
One of those draws was at Parkside early in September when Suley Zuhdu's 67th minute goal was cancelled out by a late equaliser from George Sippetts.
In the Millers team that day was the popular midfielder Alejandro Machado, who made a big impact in midfield since joining the club from Grays at the beginning of the season, but he has now moved on after playing ten matches - joining Brentwood Town in midweek.
However, there is also a new face in the Millers squad following the signing of central defender Harry Haysom after most recently being with fellow Isthmian Premier League side Hashtag United where he made 167 appearances across five seasons. In his time across those seasons, Haysom won the Isthmian North title in the 2022/23 campaign, voted fans, managers and players' player of the season in 2021/22.
Tilbury and Grays both have away ties.
Tilbury, who came through a penalty shoot-out to win at Welwyn Garden City in the last round will be at Southern Football League Premier Division South Chertsey Town.
Grays' reward for their impressive win against Felixstowe and Walton United in the last round is a trip to another Southern Premier South side, Hanwell Town.
Winning clubs at this stage will receive £2450 from the competition prize fund while losing teams will get £625. Today's matches will go to penalties if the scores are tied.
In the Essex and Suffolk Border League Premier Division East Thurrock Community FC, who top the table and are unbeaten this season, travel to tenth place Tiptree Heath.
