Little Oakley 1, Tilbury 4
TWO very late goals emphasised Tulbury's doiminant position at the head of the Essex Senior league as they began the new year with a victory at the memorial ground.
With three matches in hand Dockers are a point clear of nearest rivals Sporting Bengal United after the victory on Saturday (6 December).
Dockers took the lead after just 12 minutes thanks to Roman Campbell. The ball fell for Campbell following a free kick and his effort was deflected past goalkeeper Luke Skinner.
Tilbury took the lead into the half time break and Harry Donovan doubled their lead in the 65th minute after great play from MacCauley Joynes. The referee gave a superb advantage after Joynes' sideline battle and as the ball fell to Donovan, he bent his effort into the far corner.
Oakley got one back in the 86th minute when Dan Rowe excited the home fans as he tapped in from close range.
But Tilbury reacted quickly following Oakley's goal and pressure led to their third in the 92nd minute when Jack Sibbons turned the ball into his own net.
The away side were not done yet as Dan Trendall scored just two minutes later. He received the ball from Igli Metalia and calmly slotted his effort home to put the icing on the post Christmas cake.
Tilbury have a quick turnaround as they play Halstead Town this Tuesday (9 January) at The Milbank Stadium. Halstead sit fifth and have taken nine points from their last four games.
