Tilbury 1 Brightlingsea Regent 1
AFTER a hard-earned victory over high-flying Hashtag United during the week, Tilbury welcomed Brightlingsea Regent to Chadfields in the Isthmian North on Saturday (24 October).
Managers George Christou and Jack Toghli made just one change to the side from Tuesday night's win, as goalscorer Soumen Nandi returned to the starting 11.
It looked like the home side had made a great start when Dockers put the ball in the net after just two minutes when Rasheed Salau's low cross to the far post was turned home by Issa Sidibe. However, the linesman's flag was swiftly raised to cut the Tilbury celebrations short.
The visitors broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute when Jenson Mulqueen received the ball on the edge of the area from a corner. Mulqueen clipped a cross to the back stick, but the ball managed to evade a touch from anyone and bounced straight into the net.
Tilbury answered back on the hour mark, as a low cross into the box from the left-hand side was prodded past the keeper by Ben Allen.
In stoppage time, Regent had an opportunity to win the game as Travis Richards was slotted through on goal. But he was denied by a brilliant save from Billy Lawlor and the points were shared after a game played in difficult conditions with strong wind and rain dominating play.
Dockers: Lawlor, Bennett, Reeve ©, Elliott, Nandi (Rea), Toussaint, Winn, Brocklebank, Allen, Sidibe (Barlow), Salau (Stimson). SUBS UNUSED: Dadson, Wheatley.
Dockers are back in action on Tuesday (27 October) when they travel to face Fakenham Town (7.45pm)
