T-BIRDs emerged victorious from a hard-fought and close contest against fellow title rivals Richmond on Sunday (15 October) thanks to late try from new signing, US student Mikey Williams.

After the match Director of Rugby, Dean White said: "This was a proud day for the club, with both our first and second teams running out at home.

"We picked up two impressive wins and this showed our strength in depth.

"The team were winners against a very good Richmond side. Both Richmond and ourselves were undefeated leading into this game and it was always going to be a close game.

"At some points in the game, Richmond made us dig deep and really put us under pressure but as always, the players did what they do every week and stuck together.

"The second team put on a fine display of Rugby and walked away with a 77-0 victory against Ashford.

"This meant that both the teams remain undefeated so far this season. We have had a good start but also still have loads to work on.

"As a coaching team, we are very proud of how the players have worked on the training pitch and this has made all the difference with our performances.

"We must now keep this momentum going and look to improve in a few areas."

The T-Birds' next game is away to Henley and they next play at home at Oakfield, Long Lane on Sunday, 5 November.
