SUNDAY (18 May) brings double hopes of cup final success for Thurrock rugby club, with its senior men and women teams challenging for major honours.

First to kick-off are Thurrock T-Birds Second who are in the Papa Johns Women's Intermediate Cup climax against Sefton which starts at Twickenham at 3pm. You will be able to watch the match online via this link.

The ladies will be hoping to complete a double, having won the junior trophy last year and, having stepped up a grade, made it to a second successive final.

They made it through with a 20-13 semi-final home win against Newbury, having earlier beaten Old Albanian Saints 15-13 and Eton Manor 34-5.

The men's firsts will kick-off against Devon side Cullompton at 5pm in the Papa John's Regional 2, South Shield Final match at Bristol's Shaftsbury Park ground.

In a competition somewhat devalued by a number of walkovers, Regional 2 Tribute South West Cullompton reached the final with a 50-14 win at Weston-super-Mare and a 51-28 home success against Old Centralians while Thurrock required just one match, winning 50-33 at Dartfordians in a derby that can be watched via this link.

Entry to both finals is free.
