THURROCK Rugby Club firsts enjoyed an emphatic pre-season victory against Woodford at Oakfield on Saturday (17 August).

Harry Reynolds got two tries, converted six conversions and a penalty in the 45-12 win.

The other tries came from George Miles, Ahmed Aminu, Lewis Squelch and Joe Reynolds.

The firsts will be back in action with another friendly, away at East London on Saturday, 31 August before the Regional Two South East season starts with a trip to Battersea Ironsides on Saturday, 7 September. 

The first home league match is on Saturday, 14 September when Old Tiffinians visit.

The women's teams also begin league action that weekend, with the T-Birds Firsts at London Irish in the Championship South on Sunday, 15 September and the T-Birds seconds home to Wimbledon in the Womens South East North division on the same afternoon. 

T-Birds recently travelled to East Grinstead's Saint Hill ground for a friendly that featured a number of debutants, as well as some returning familiar faces.
