AFTER the disappointment of the previous weekend when there were deeats for both the first and second teams on the road last weekend to North Bristol (26-10 with their tries coming from Amy Battel and Alexandra Zdunek) and East London (15-12), repectively, T-Birds Seconds lifted spirits on Sunday (1 December) with an emphatic win in the third round of the Papa John Cup against local league rivals Eton Manorat Oakfield.
The Seconds emerged 34-5 winners with first half tries from Sarah Dyche and Rachel Brahamn-Everett, both converted by Sohie Scanlon, who also kicked a penalty.
Sophie Smith added a try just before the hour, also converted by Scanlon, and that was quickly followed up when Brahamn-Everett crossed for her second.
The scoring concluded on 70 minutes when Millie Thurman-Newell went over.
The firsts will be at home on Sunday (8 December) when Beckenham Ladies will visit in the Championship South. The seconds will also be at home in the South East (North Division) against Wasps.
