Tees on the brink of a title triumph

By Nub News Reporter 11th Apr 2026

WITH two matches remaining, Thurock RFC firsts could take a big step towards clinching the London and South East Counties One Essex title today (Saturday, 11 April).

Tees' last outing saw them climb back to the top of the table with an emphatic win against Romford and Gidea Park.

Today they play host to Upminster, who sit ninth in the table – only above Stanford-le-Hope. With second-placed Epping Upper Clapton not playing today, Thurrock have the chance to open up a significant gap at the top – and next week they complete the season with a home derby against Stanford, so it's massively odds on that Tees will be promoted after just one season at regional county level.

Stanford are in action today, they play host to Romford and Gidea Park.

In Essex One Pegs Palmerians are away to Romford and Gidea Park seconds.

Thames will complete their season's fixtures today with a trip to Campion seconds in Essex Two. The visitors will be looking for maximum points against the eighth-placed side as they hope to stay ahead of Rochford Hundred, who are five points behind but still have three points to play.
