THURROCK mens firsts will be looking to extend their lead at the top of London & South East Counties One Essex when they make the short trip to Romford and Gidea Park today (Saturday, 6 December). 

But despite Thurrock's run of form, which included a memorable big win at home to East London last weekend, it will be no easy task at Crow Lane as Romford are second by just one point and also have a record of played seven, won seven.

In the same division Stanford-le-Hope will play host to Maldon at the town's Rec where they will be looking to avoid three straight defeats, having gone down to Mavericks and Chingford in their last two encounters.

Those defeats have dropped Stanford to second from bottom, with only points-deducted Mavericks below them. Maldon are seventh with three wins and four defeats on their record.

Struggling at the foot of Essex One, Pegasus Palmerians make the trip to mid table Harlow. Both sides have actually won two and lost five from seven fixtures, but seven bonus points divide them.

Also in the division Thurrock seconds will play host to their counterparts from Brentwood.

In Essex division Two Thames, who sit third, travel to fourth-placed Bancroft.
