THURROCK Park Run will celebrate its 500th event on Saturday, 15 August.

The weekly Saturday event takes place at Orsett Heath, starting from the Pyramid Resource Centre at 9am.

To date there have been:

Events: 499

Finishers: 7,842

Finishes: 55,624

Volunteers: 695

Run organisers say: "Saturday 15th August will mark Thurrock Park Run's 500th event and to celebrate we would like you all to come dressed in the 500th milestone colour of blue.

"We will also have pacers on hand to help you celebrate the event with a new PB as well as a cake sale to raise funds that will be split between the Pyramid Centre and Thurrock Parkrun (donations to Thurrock Parkrun will need to be made online here:

"Not only that, but we we will have a 'what parkrun means to you' poster to add a message to that we will share with you after the event.
