UNTIL Saturday 1st July
AN exhibition will open at the Thameside Complex in Grays on Saturday, 1 July highlighting memories of borough people about the airborn battles of World War II.
'War in the Sky' will be staged in the ground floor gallery at the Thameside.
It features the Dambusters, Thurrock people who served in the RAF and WAAF, 'Spitfire Women' of the Air Transport Auxiliary, Essex Airfields and the tragedies of Allied air crashes at Bulphan and the Globe Pit, with other items of local interest.
Ground floor display cabinets have also been refreshed with WWII artefacts, which you may not have seen.
The exhibition has been put together by the Thameside Museum volunteers who are at the museum on Friday mornings, if anyone would like to meet them or ask questions.
Other WWII exhibitions planned for 2023 are Make Do and Mend, Thurrock at Sea, Armistice and Christmas 1943
