Haunt Coalhouse Fort – Tours of Coalhouse Fort – Saturday 18th October

Join us for these rare, guided tours of Coalhouse Fort on the eve of its reanimation, including inside the gates and into the Parade Ground. You are invited to deck yourself in your spookiest Halloween finery for these tours, and haunt Coalhouse Fort!

10:15 – 11:00 Tour of site exterior, parade ground and upper level.

11:15 – 12:00 Level(ish) access tour of site exterior and parade ground. Please note the parade ground is a mainly flat but uneven surface.

12:00 – 12:45 Tour of site exterior, parade ground and upper level.

13:45 – 14:45 Level(ish) access tour of site exterior and parade ground. Please note the parade ground is a mainly flat but uneven surface. Bookable on-site on the day.

Be aware there will be spooky costumes around! Family Friendly Halloween Costumes welcome on these tours!

By foot: Coalhouse Fort is at the end of Princess Margaret Road, East Tilbury, RM18 8PB

By train: The nearest station is East Tilbury on the c2c line. The Fort is a 30 minute direct walk along Princess Margaret Road.

By Bus: The Central Connect 375 bus stops at Coalhouse Fort. For timetable search here for 375:https://www.central-connect.co.uk/timetables/

By Car: Free parking is available in the Coalhouse Fort Park car park. Please do not park on the street in the village. Do not block drives or access for others.

Please be aware that there is a level crossing on Princess Margaret road, that has goods trains passing through that can take up to 30 mins, as well as scheduled passenger trains – allow extra time for your journey
