THURROCK Nub News is delighted to have teamed up with the Co-op and Horndon on the Hill School to bring a little Easter magic to the last week of term by highlighting its pupils' artistic skills.
In conjunction with the Co-op we have donated £50 of Co-op vouchers to the school as prizes for children and they are gearing up to tuck into some uneggspected Easter Eggs.
Pupils in year five have already downloaded printed sheets from the Co-op's artistic team and they have been busy colouring them in. We will be sharing their designs with you by scanning them in and publishing on Nub News.
The school is also promoting its own Easter Egg raffle which will be drawn on Thursday, so children have been gaining inspiration by looking at some of the designs on them.
However, what they will get as a reward for their efforts in the Co-op competition will be eggs from the Co-op's Fair Trade selection (available at all local stores).
So they will not only be getting an Easter treat, they will be helping spread the Fair Trade message. You can learn all about the Co-op's links with Fair Trade via this link.
At the end of the week, before the children break up, the school will nominate winners in the class at random and the children can take home chocolate eggs to add to their festive feast treat.
If your child would like to have a go at colouring in one of the egg templates, then you can download them via this link. Scan them and send them in to [email protected] and we will be delighted to publish them. And if the Easter Bunny is in a good mood, there may be a couple of spare prizes too!
Co-op membership helps support local causes and the Co-op's national charity partners. See www.coop.co.uk/membership to find out more or become a Co-op Member.
