A THURROCK Nub News reader has won a £50 Co-op voucher in our recent Father's Day-themed competition.

The competition involved people sharing their favourite memories, photos or moments with their dad.

Winner Claire Conway said: "I have many funny stories to choose from but the one I remember most from being a kid was he took me and my sister blackberry picking and said "look at that big one", reached out to grab it and disappeared down a ditch.

"We were only little, I was in hysterics and my sister stood there crying. Murray Saunders the best dad anyone could wish for."

There were other submissions, including Jamie Smith's stories about his 'two dad'. he told us: "I have so many memories of my dads but the fact he is always there for me when I need him and or the grankids need him says alot:

"My dad Neil funniest memory is when he went down on my great nan's wheelchair on his tummy pretending to be superman but ended up going into a tree haha."

"My stepdad Ken - funniest memory is when he was chasing my son who was on a zip line and tripped over pushing my son further away!"

Our Thurrock winner was eventually picked from a draw of submissions and our thanks go to all who entered.

Four vouchers were up for grabs across the Nub News network. The other winners were in Honiton, Exmouth and Sandbach. We hope all dads enjoyed their special day on Sunday.
