THE regional organser for the Re-engage charity that supporter elderly lonely and vulnerable people has tahnked the Co-op for a significant donation.

Each year the Co-op's Local Community Fund helps selected good causes and for 2024 the Grays-based charity is a recipient.

The first tranch of funding was donated to the group and regional co-ordinator Loraine Cole,man has expressed her gratitude.

She says: "A very big thank you to Claire Mason and our Local Co-op Community Fund for the amazing donation of £1,010.90 for Thurrock Re-engage.

"We would like to thank all the Co-op colleagues and customers so much for their support.

"This wonderful donation will enable us to continue with our free tea parties in 2024 bringing elderly Thurrock Residents together for friendship and companionship."

The Co-op's Claire Mason was presented with flowers at the Re-engage event.

Claire, the Grays Sockets Heath store Member Pioneer, who also co-ordinates charity links across a number of local stores, recently attended a Re-engage event to see first hand the good work the charity does.
