JOY and friendship were shared at the latest gathering of members of the Thurrock Re-engage groups.
The charity organises social events for local vulnerable and lonely elderly people and two of the groups supported by the charity and its volunteers took place at Headon Hall in Stifford Clays, Grays.
The afternoon tea was donated and supplied by Wonderland Teas.
Volunteer co-ordinator Aileen said: "They not only provided the delicious food but also all the fine china and cutlery. Thank you so much for generosity and kindness.
"We also welcomed Claire Mason from the Co-op on Sockets Heath which has kindly chosen Re-engage Thurrock as one of their charities for 2024.
"Claire told our guests about the scheme and how shopping at the Co-op helps raise funds for our charity. We are so grateful to the Co-op for choosing us this year. Thank you so much.
"Another huge thank you to all our drivers Wendy Curtis, Pip, Liz, Pam Linda and Jo for all your help and kindness that you show our guests. We can't do this without you. Thank you."
Kelly from Wonderland Teas said: "We had the pleasure of gifting afternoon tea to Thurrock Re-engage. It is aways so lovely to see the guests and volunteers. Thank you for having us again."
