TWO brothers have been jailed after a vicious and bloody street attack in Tilbury that left a man with life-changing injuries and traumatised witnesses who saw it.

The brutal incident happened on 13 August last year and was carried out in view of children.

Ferrell and Maison Falzon had previously admitted carrying out the attack and yesterday (Tuesday, 8 February) were sentenced at Southend Crown Court.

The court heard Ferrell Falzon, 19, of Diana Way, Clacton, called his brother claiming to have been stabbed. Maison, 26, of Leicester Road, Tilbury, met up and decided they would seek retribution.

It was carried out in broad daylight when the duo found their target outside the Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church on the junction of Malta Road and Dock Road on Friday, 13 August.

Just after 5pm drove a vehicle into their victim who was knocked to the ground. The brothers got out of the vehicle and began their attack, with Ferrell using a machete.

The due admitted causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Maison Falzon was jailed for 11 years and also disqualified from driving for 10.5 years after also admitting dangerous driving.

Ferrell Falzon was jailed for nine years with an extended licence of four years.

The court heard that residents had been traumatised and one family had since left the area as they found the incident so shocking.
