INDUSTRIAL action by members of the Unite union fighting changes to their terms and conditions begins in Thurrock today (Tuesday, 13 April).

Members of the union will be withdrawing their labour from 9am each day for the next three weeks, which means there will be limited collections in the early hours. Thurrock Council has detailed collections information on its website here.

The strike has its roots in plans by Thurrock Council to make changes to the allowances, overtime and bonus payments to staff among a number of departments, including care workers.
