By Neil Speight   22nd Feb 2021

POLICE are appealing for information after a garage was broken into on Cedar Road, Chadwell St Mary and a BMW motorbike taken.

The incident happened at around 12am on Thursday, 11 February and police believe that three or four people may have been moving through gardens in the area before reaching the garages and taking the bike, which was later recovered.

A police spokesperson said: "We're asking anyone who witnessed the motorbike being taken, or anyone in the area who has CCTV or dash cam, to get in touch."

A local 18-year-old man, arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and burglary, has since been released under investigation.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information on it is asked to submit a report online at here where you can use the 'Live Chat' button to speak to an online operator between 7am and 11pm. Alternatively police can be contacted on 101, quoting crime reference number 42/24502/21.

Information can also be given to independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
