AN application has been made to create a new apartment block on the site of a former garage and petrol station site in Corringham.

AMD Property Limited want to demolish the former central Garage at 31 Lampits Hill and create a new three storey block containing 16 flats (8 one bed and 8 two bed) plus car parking for 22 cars.

The applicants say the takes into consideration the scale and massing of nearby properties and is sympathetic to its location in its design and use of materials which match those used in existing buildings within the area.

New trees and soft landscaping are also proposed which will benefit the site as it will replace the current unsightly garage and boarding.
