THE search is continuing at Alexandra Lake at adjacent to the Lakeside regional shopping and leisure centre for a 15-year old boy who was reported missing last night, Friday 31 July.

A major search was launched lat night after police were called at around 8.50pm to reports that a teenager had gone missing in the lake.

It is reported he was playing on the inflatables which are part of the recently installed Aqua Park. The attraction was closed at the time.

Superintendent Craig Saunders said: "Our investigation has identified that he was last seen at around 8.50pm, on the lake.

"We will be working with specialist search teams to carry out an extensive search of the lake and surrounding area today (Saturday, 1 August).

"We ask that you please avoid the area, as we continue our search.

"If anyone has any dashcam, CCTV or mobile phone footage from the area last night please call us on 101 quoting incident 1441 of 31 July.

The area around the lake remains cordoned off as police carry on their work.

It has now been confirmed that the boy is a student at Hassenbrook School in Stanford-le-Hope. He has been named locally but Thurrock Nub News will await official confirmation.
