PARENTS and carers of children at primary schools in Corringham and Stanford are being invited to an open event next week - to extol the virtues of Gable Hall secondary school.

The Southend Road establishment has had a year of lows, and its future over-arching management remains in the balance but staff are cracking on and trying to highlight the positives.

Tuesday, 26 September from 4 to 7pm will see it host an open evening for children from, among others, Giffards Primary, Corringham Primary, Arthur Bugler Primary, Graham James Primary Academy and Abbots Hall Primary Academy in what is described as 'a truly exceptional open evening experience that goes beyond the ordinary. Parents, carers and pupils are invited to embark on a journey of exploration and insight into Gable Hall School.

A statement from the Ortu Federation which remains the Trust running Gable Hall, and Gable Hall Principal Gary Lewis says: "During this event, you will not only gain insights into our school but also have the privilege of engaging with our teaching staff.

"Immerse yourself in activities and engage with an array of speakers, including both faculty and exceptional students.

"In addition to this experience, a plethora of guidance and assistance will be readily available. Uncover everything you need to know about our school, including our teaching methods, educational philosophy, and the full spectrum of our pastoral and learning support systems.

The open event has been set up to welcome children, parents and carers from schools at set times - thougb they are not written in stone.
