RESIDENTS and staff at a borough care home were in celebratory mood today (Sunday, 25 June) and enjoyed a sun-baked party in its garden.

The Cedar House Care Home on Southend Road in stanford-le-Hope hosted its first garden party since the beginning of the Covid pandemic and it was attended by family and friends of residents as well as staff.

Christian Care Homes' founder Mico Bienvenu and senior manager Lesley Venables (centre) were presented with birthdat gifts.

And it was also an event to mark the 70th birthdays of Christian Care Homes' founder Mico Bienvenu and senior manager Lesley Venables – who were both presented with gifts.

Everyone enjoyed a sumptuous buffet and live entertainment in the centre's garden area.

A raffle was also held with proceeds going to the fund for residents' outings and days out.
