Feast and Fayre was 'one of best ever'

By Neil Speight 26th Jun 2023

OVER two sun-soaked days Horndon on the Hill played host to thousands of visitors on Saturday and Sunday when the annual Feast and Fayre proved to be a huge success.

Orhanisers were delighted with the event and one of them, Nigel Sergeant, said: "This year's Feast and Fayre was one of our best ever.

"We were blessed by great weather and a magnificent 'can do' attitude by all the organisers.

"The mix of street stalls and musical entertainment, staged in the streets and in the two village pubs, The Swan and The Bell, was of the highest quality and we would like to thank everyone who contributed to such a peaceful and memorable Feast & Fayre.

"Long may this long established event continue into the future."

East Thurrock MP Stephen Metcalfe opened the Feast and Fayre on Saturday and at its conclusion on Sunday said: "A big congratulations to Horndon-on-the-Hill for the Feast and Fayre 2023. It was a fantastic success, raising money for a great charity and celebrating hundreds of years of local tradition."
