THE magic of Christmas will unfold at a church in Thurrock on Christmas Eve.

Stanford-le-Hope's St Margaret's Church will be hosting a Christmas Eve Pyjama Service for young families.

Janice Wilkins from the church community says: "Residents are invited to visit the church and help to make a cake for Santa and Christmas decorations, followed by cookies, chocolate milk, Bedtime story and prayer. Then home to put out your cake for Santa, hang your stocking and into bed before Santa arrives.

"Sadly, it is now a requirement to wear a face mask for Communal Worship. Masks will be available at the door but we would be most grateful if you could bring your own."

The service will begin at 6pm at St Margaret's on the Green in the town centre.
