SEVERAL teams of firefighters from Grays and Orsett tackled two field fires in Tilbury and Chadwell this afternoon (Sunday, 17 July).
The first was a large blaze across grassland accessed by Biggin Lane in Tilbury and it tokk several house for the crews to douse the flames, which produced clouds of smoke that could be seen for several miles.
No sooner had they done that, then a blaze started just to the north in fields close to Sandy Lane, Chadwell St Mary.
