AN incident on the westbound A13 just past the Tilbury Dock Road (A1089), first reported around 6.30am continues to cause traffic problems with eastbound queues as far back as past the Manorway junction at Stanford-le-Hope.

Two heavy goods vehicles were been involved in the collision.

One man was trapped in one of the vehicles. Firefighters worked hard to release the man, before leaving him in the care of the East of England Ambulance Service.

The road is likely to remain closed for some time while the area is made completely safe - if you're travelling this morning, please use an alternative route if you can.

A statement from Essex Police says: "We were called to reports of a collision involving two lorries and a car on the A13 near Tilbury at 6.05am today (Wednesday 19 October).
