A13 reopened early after work went 'incredibly well'

By Neil Speight 1st Mar 2020

RESIDENTS in surrounding towns and villages affected by diversions were given a Sunday boost when contractors Kier lifted a dual carriageway closure.

Late on Saturday Kier reopened the A13 at Orsett Cock roundabout and issued the following statement: "Our works progressed incredibly well on Saturday and as a result we have managed to open the road ahead of schedule (the closure was originally scheduled to continue right the way through to Monday morning).

"A standard overnight closure will go in again on Sunday night, between 9pm and 5am. This will just be a closure at the A128 junction, with an 'up and over' diversion in place.

"The village protection measures at Horndon and Buckingham Hill Road have been remove."
