A13 road closure returns this weekend

MOTORISTS and residents are reminded that once again there will be disruption to traffic through local towns and villages this weekend because ongoing A13 widening project.

The A13 will be closed in both directions between the A1014 (Manorway) and A128 (Orsett Cock) junctions this weekend for road surfacing, lining and lane re-alignment works.

Closures start at 9pm on Friday, 19 November and remain until 5am on Monday, 22 November with traffic diverted via the A1013 Stanford Road instead.

The council asks drivers, to minimise the impact on residential areas, not to divert through nearby towns and villages, with non-local traffic asked to use the A127 to avoid causing congestion.

The following weekend will see a respite in road closures and there will A13 disruption between Friday, 26 and Monday, 29 November to enable the free movement of shoppers and deliveries during the Black Friday/Cyber Monday shopping weekend.
