FOR the immediate future all planned closures of the A13 in Thurrock related to the road widening programme have been cancelled.

While some work is continuing on the project site, planned work at the Orsett Cock Roundabout will not now take place as the type of works did not enable the contractors to comply with social distancing guidance.

Some major engineering work will be taking place this weekend close to Tilbury.

Contractors working on the Tilbury2 port project will be working on Saturday and Sunday (4 & 5 April) between 8pm and 5am on the A1089 at the Asda roundabout to complete critical safety and resurfacing work.

Traffic management will be in place to divert traffic around the roundabout anti clockwise in a controlled manner.

Work on Tilbury2 is considered essential and contractors will be working to all the recent government regulations set out for the sector.
