A13 westbound travel disruption. And lorry overturns at Orsett Cock.

EARLY morning commuters have reported significant delays on the westbound A13 around junctions 30 & 31 with the M25 this morning (Wednesday, 21 January).

Roads around Lakeside including feeder roads in Aveley and Purfleet are also reported to be very congested.

At 7.10am traffic and travel sites reported the following:

A13 Aveley

  • Long delays due to earlier accident on A13 Westbound from A1306 (Wennington Interchange, Aveley) to Ferry Lane Interchange (Rainham). Congestion to the Stifford Interchange and the A1306 Arterial Road Westbound. Closed since around 1:40, all lanes now open. Diversion: For bus route 372.

A226 Galley Hill Road Swanscombe

  • A226 Galley Hill Road both ways closed due to roadworks between B259 High Street and Lower Road. Until 23rd November 2027.

Ship Lane Thurrock Lakeside

  • Ship Lane both ways closed due to accident investigation work from M25 J31 (Lakeside / Purfleet, Thurrock Lakeside) to Hall Road (Aveley). Ongoing since around 11:30 last night.

Later in the morning the problems were compounded when a lorry overturned on the Orestt Cock roundabout.
